Now SHIELD is acting a hundred times more mysterious than usual, rumours of the Winter Soldier are making even world-class assassins nervous, and someone or something is terrifying the pigeon population of DC.

The soldier doesn't understand. He completes his mission, but it's not enough. He sees faces from the corner of his eye. He has no words, but he lashes out.

The soldier is a broken thing. He obeys, but it's not enough. Voices taunt him in warmth and light. He cannot speak, but his mind calls out.

I'm not used to writing anything like this at all, but I apparently have no sense of self-preservation and will do it anyway despite the terror :D It's not your usual ABO story - that is to say it's focused mainly on social/gender/equality/identity issues and doesn't have any smut or psychic bonds (because I prefer crazy science, unfortunately!)
